Tenet

Tenet ★★★★½

Nolan’s cinematic business finally pays off when he stops trying to explain everything. The stripped down intensity of Dunkirk blends with his high concept interests to create the closest thing to the Michael Mann masterpiece he has been trying to make his whole career. Two-and-a-half hours of forward momentum and exhilarating set pieces. Göransson out-Zimmers Zimmer and Hoyte van Hoytema has never been better, but Branagh gets the MVP trophy for appropriately heightening the movie. A next-level performance. One of Nolan’s best (if not his best...)
