This isn’t even a movie.
It’s 3/4 songs with better production value and dragged out interviews from the bands. I questioned how genuine they were. Then we get to the ACTUAL story of the nativity, which was only 20 minutes.
The Nativity Story (2005) was a full length movie. This was a overdrawn playlist. What a major bore. But my parents were happy and enjoyed it. So did I, the bar was open.
They lip-synced too.
Memory and cinema conjoined. This is definitely a mood movie. As in you have to be open to being confused, conflicted, challenged and be fine with not fully understanding it. Some criticize a movie for its execution, but I'd challenge you to try to find where it's at, meet on its level instead of it coming to you. Reconfigure what you think you know and just vibe with it.
