Apples to Apples, Dust to Dust.
Pretty delightful. Just self-aware enough to properly criticize the entitlement fantasy at the center of the premise, while still not undercutting the sincere approach to this monster-infested world. I can’t tell you how worried I was when I saw the male lead was narrating, but it’s actually rather sweet and affecting? There’s a lot of lovely slow scenes focused on minor character beats and emotions, which elevates the traditional romance/survival plot to something pretty special. Enjoyed it a lot.
