Jesse’s review published on Letterboxd:
Holy Mary Mother of God. I was absolutely not prepared for the masterpiece that is Koyaanisqatsi. The mind blowing images combined with Phillip Glass’ unbelievable score (a masterpiece on its own I might add) sent my mind into a frenzy. So many thoughts and ideas burst into my brain, I could barely make heads or tails of what I was coming up with. Both ideas about the films meaning and ideas surrounding my personal and artistic existence. I assumed stepping into this film I might find it to be tedious, but Koyaanisqatsi is spellbinding. Each frame is as profound as the last. It’s a sensational work of art that may ultimately be a bit grim, but so hopeful in its execution and perspective. Despite how horrible most things are, there is such beauty in our exisistence on this planet alone, that the potential for change is there, and we may be getting closer to it every day.
