Loved this movie when I was 19. Its flaws are more apparent now, primarily due to it being so ambitious for Kelly's first go.
Frank is such a powerful image.
Living in a small market, smaller movies and foreign films rarely play here. Historically, there are a handful of movies each year that are constantly praised and by the time I see them, they can't help but disappoint. This one did not. I wish I could have seen this in a theater.
This holds up pretty well until the transphobic shit starts up toward the end. It's easy to see how this made Carrey a mega star. Almost every shot he's in has him doing things that no other performer could achieve.
