Phill Hill’s review published on Letterboxd:
Lorraine: This demon isn’t here on its own free will, it was summoned.
Ed: That doesn’t make me feel any better.
“The connection goes both ways.” #shooketh
This was the most predictable of the three conjurings, but I still enjoyed it. Certainly not a hot take to say the lack of James Wan made this one the most lacking across the board.
It had some great moments but overall was the most dull and bland.
I loved Denethor just being creepy AF.
I loved the sledge hammer sequence.
I loved the corpses.
I loved “the force” conversation.
As always I love Patrick & Vera in these.
I have completed my Conjuring Universe journey, the only good ones are these three and Annabelle Creation, the rest are sub par and arguably a waste of time.
This universe is still more consistently well written than the DCEU.
