This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

A stunning movie that serves its purpose of being a serious sci fi movie for general audiences that doesn’t hold hands or break up the tone with stupid jokes. Revolutionary.

It has all the grandiosity of the book but none of the nuance of its first half. I get you don’t wanna play all your cards when you have another movie to make but doing nothing with characters like Thufir and Piter who get some of the highlights of the…

If the action were any better during the first hour this might be a 6, but God these barely lit cgi blobs get old fast. The climax (and Harrelson’s entire schtick) is so zany that it manages to land on its feet, and there are some funny moments. I generally like the idea of these being dumb fun.

Saw a bunch of headlines about this movie being “let in on the joke,” as if the first movie had some accidental…

Shapeland is insane, all of this data is insane. But my favorite part was the montage of Disney Park Strategy guide YouTubers, two of which were definitely filming together in a school classroom. Imagining that potentially being what I had to do to stay afloat made some part of me die.

    Class warfare, babyyyyyyyyyy

Been too long since I've seen a movie this enjoyably cheap and bizarre. Certified best of the worst classic. Horrible acting, jarring editing and a complete lack of coherence. If it were any longer it might be insufferable, but bless it that it's only 70 minutes.

Ayo. A word in the Nigerian language of the Yoruba people meaning "Joy." Ayo brought that joy to us all.

Through his love of film and filmmaking, Ayo was a man all his own. His photography and editing styles created beautiful portraits of the various beautiful people that he saw in this world. Do yourself a favor and look at every single thing on his Instagram (@salvadordarkie), it will move your world.

He introduced me to his favorite film, The…

    The Suicide Squad

    ★★½

Impressively crafted and performed but largely lacking in impact. It ironically has the same problem the first film does, not giving enough development to any of its characters in favor of constantly moving forward, and Harley Quinn is a complete distraction who doesn’t belong here after her development in Birds of Prey. It also tries to have Things To Say about America’s involvement (read: interference) in global politics but refuses to stick to its guns in favor of having the…
