A movie about that feeling where you try a thing you can feel no one believes you can do and you fail horribly and then try to figure out what the hell to do with yourself afterwards.
My god this is great. By the final action sequence, I was both laughing and crying at the sheer grotesque beauty of its visuals and stunts. Themes of our relationship with the pain of the past are surprisingly touching.
Honestly, there's so much to say here and I hardly know where to start. May update this later.
Sure, the filmmaking is incompetent, and the twist is bananas, and the sound mixing often makes important dialogue inaudible, and the sex scenes are awkward as hell, and this thing somehow had 3 production coordinators, and Hathaway has never been worse, and this has a very vague and misguided idea of what it’s supposed to be representing post-twist, but you know what? I had an absolute blast.
