Rocky IV: Rocky Vs. Drago – The Ultimate Director's Cut

Some big changes and extended scenes. The ending was a lot better imo. These films and their training montages always motivate me to get my fat ass to the gym. But since I currently don't have a gym membership I'm going to open a bag of chips and watch another movie!

  • Spider-Man

Still remember seeing this in theaters with the family back in 2002. Spider-Man is basically the template for Marvel films to follow. The best superhero origin story ever put on film. It had been a while since I last watched this. Glad it still stands high as one of the best comic book movies ever made.

Raising my rating. First time since seeing it at the Drive In along with Terminator 3. The special effects and action scenes are outstanding and I love the world building The Matrix Reloaded accomplishes. The philosophical stuff went a bit over my head when I was 14 but this time I found one scene fascinating and one scene a bit pretentious. A solid sequel.

  • Nightfall

Another oof. 80 min ultra low budget science fiction film. I feel like the source material was wasted here. I've never read anything by Isaac Asimov but from what I've heard his stuff is groundbreaking. Nightfall is boring, unintentionally funny, and Picard face palm inducing but far from groundbreaking. Stay away!

    August Challenge with Mitch

Prompt: Go see a movie in theaters.

Pure movie theater cinematic escapism! I'll leave the nitpicking for the cynics. I had a hell of a time. I laughed my ass off. The action was nonstop. James Gunn is in top form and The Suicide Squad is on par with the original Guardians of the Galaxy. I'll be rewatching The Suicide Squad for years and years to come. A smile was on my face from the first few seconds and will be returning everytime I think about this movie. Go see it in theaters everyone!
