The Legend of Tarzan

The Legend of Tarzan

You know, for a movie called Tarzan, it is certainly a lot more boring than it should be. I am so glad that I did not see this in theaters because this film is just pitiful. There was not a single moment in this entire film that hooked me in. It was a snore from start to finish. It has a boring story with a script that takes itself too seriously, poorly shot and edited action scenes, paper thin characters, horrible editing, a generic soundtrack, and bad acting from almost everyone, even Samuel L. Jackson, who is one of my favorite actors, is lackluster here. The biggest joke to me were the shockingly low production values. The movie looks terrible, as it has fake-looking cgi on the animals that doesn't look the least bit convincing, horrible green screen, and unimpressive cinematography at best. I cannot believe this film was released on the big screen on the same year as Dr. Strange, Warcraft, Star Trek Beyond, Arrival, and the Jungle Book remake. Also, I never felt like I was watching Tarzan, but instead, a bad studio movie trying to make a franchise, but failing epically. The only three things I like about this film is the adorable baby elephant, Margot Robbie's performance as Jane who even then, is wasted on a useless role, and lastly, I liked that Tarzan and the animals used expressions instead of words to show their feelings during their scenes. None of these qualities can ever change my mind about this film.

I truly didn't think it was going to be this bad, but The Legend of Tarzan is a black hole of entertainment in my opinion. I really wanted to like it, but I just cannot see this movie's appeal. There is nothing in this movie that is worthwhile and hopefully it will be forgotten in the future. Just stick with the Disney animated film because this movie sucks.
