An ambitious and powerful crime drama from Steven Soderbergh which explores the illegal drug trade through three interconnected stories and from various tangible perspectives in users, traffickers, enforcers and politicians. With an ensemble cast, the well written narrative and characters are given the needed amplification. The grayness in characters and their untrustworthiness keeps the flow unguessable throughout. The lightings, highly saturated visuals, hand held cinematography and documentary style treatment is absorbing and gripping. It gets draggy and melodramatic at places, but it’s a solid drama to watch with both style and substance.

A romantic drama with an interesting knot based on alternative dual narratives, revolving around a young man’s life and fate, after he catches/ misses a bus, on his way to a job interview. Despite of an interesting plot and solid performances from Simran, Jyothika, Vivek and Shaam, the execution let’s the movie down with less interesting moments, superficial emotions and its slow pace. The songs and comedy are enjoyable though. A passable watch.

The twists fo work in its favor and the combo of Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt are a treat to watch and do provide some good laughs with their fun banters. The dad jokes were enjoyable. The romance portions didn’t work out much. Jack Whitehall…

Raging Bull is a biographical sports drama based upon the memoir of a middleweight boxer, Jake LaMotta, and chronicles his ups and downs in both his boxing and personal life as a consequence of his own rage, jealously & violent outbursts. Martin Scorsese & Robert De Niro join hands once again to deliver a compelling drama with a solid character arc. Shot in black and white, it adds to the dramatic angle. The filmmaking and the boxing choreography are top notch, with…
