James Healey’s review published on Letterboxd:
I always thought The Shining was my favorite film, but I've realized it's what I consider to be the greatest, objectively. After watching Lost in Translation for the umpteenth time tonight, it is without a doubt 100% my favorite film of all time, and nothing will top because not only does it hit the mark artistically and technically, but it's a film that I connect with on so many levels. I can only strive to make a film as masterful, personal, and meaningful to me as Lost in Translation. For any argument that this industry needs more female directors, Lost in Translation proves what importance they bring to the table.
