The Honeymoon Killers

The Honeymoon Killers ★★★★

A really fascinating portrait of loneliness and the lengths some people might (and did) go to fill that hole in their lives. The performances are phenomenal, and despite initially operating according to a kitchen-sink-realist sort of approach, the filmmaking is careful and pays special attention to the impulses, gestures, and expressions that override the appearances characters aim to present to the rest of the world. Ultimately seems to lack the punch it might have had at the time of its release, but still great.
