I remember when I was little, I went to my gammie's house and this was on TV. It was at the point where Graham was telling Bo about her birth story and they were boarding up the house. I remember seeing that and being absolutely drawn to it, but then my gammie turned it off because she realized that it was probably too old for us. Graham's monologue stuck with me for a really long time afterward. I finally found out that the movie was called Signs, and decided that I really wanted to watch it one day!
Today was that day, and it was amazing! My mom and I have been on a M. Night Shyamalan kick lately, and I'm so happy we finally got to watch this! It was suspenseful and there was incredible build up, that the outcome was fantastic!
The story had similar elements to other alien stories, but there was something so personal about the Hess family that made Signs stand out differently to me!
It might be because I've wanted to watch this since I was little, but the whole Hess family had different quirks that made them, them, and I don't think the movie would have worked as well or been as interesting if one of them wasn't there! They all complimented each other fantastically, and I think that made the story even better!
I'm definitely going to watch this again in the future, but for now, I'm going to figure out which M. Night Shyamalan movie I want to watch next!
