I honestly don’t know if I can love a film anymore than I do Aliens. Yes, Alien is the shit and a horror staple. But Aliens is the best of the series for me. It fathered one of the greatest first person shooters in Halo. It also produced some of the best characters in any movie EVER. We have the most bad ass heroine in Ellen Ripley. We have the bad-assery from Corporal Hicks played by Michael Biehn and Vasquez…

“I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time, I’d rather not spend the rest of this winter... TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!”

My NUMERO UNO favorite horror movie of all time. Could watch this everyday of my life and NOT get bored. John Carpenter is THE master of horror. Throw in an Ennio Morricone score with Kurt Russell as Macready and voila, a masterpiece. I own three different copies of this on blu…

I fucking loved this early 70’s, Spanish giallo flick. There’s an awful rubber suit for this killer reptilian creature that wears a cloak, but it’s awesome. It features some gorgeous Spanish women and some really gruesome kills. Some of the effects on the kills were quite impressive. I thought this would be a waste of my time but I really liked it. Sign me up for old Spanish horror movies.

I’ve had the blu ray sitting in my stack of movies I own but haven’t seen, for awhile now and felt that now was an appropriate time to do so. After watching Malignant last month, I had read that this would be a great double billing. I definitely see the comparisons and I loved how wacky the second half of this movie gets. The concept is very wild and I feel like this was one of Stephen King’s strongest stories.…

Damn… they really don’t make em like this anymore. This and John Carpenter’s The Thing are single handedly, the two most inspirational sci-fi horror films, EVER. The reason Sci-Fi horror is at the top of my favorite genres are because of these movies. Without those two movies, I fear that a lot of other classics that followed wouldn’t have been as successful or daring. This definitely set the tone for what’s expected from an expert monster movie. This and The…

Ahhhhhh!!! I’m somewhat torn about this one because as I did enjoy the awesome and gruesome kills, I was very disappointed with a lot of other things with the movie. All Halloween movies have a dose of cheesiness, which is fine, but some of the dialogue in this was a bit too forced. I also didn’t like the bit with the escaped mental patient, as it sort of took away from all of the Michael Myers goodness. The story was…
