    Marissa Tomei is electric here.
    I knew she won the Oscar but had no idea this was her feature film debut.

    Also, this might be blasphemy to film bros everywhere but I actually think this is Pesci at his best. He's always balancing both dramatic gravitas and comedic timing within the same scene.

    What surprised me most, however, was how skillful the screenplay was. So many scenes where two characters are having drastically different conversations within the same dialogue.

    Surprisingly competent for being almost 20 years old.

    Charlize Theron carries the entire movie. Her character (Stella) is the only one with any sort of interiority. But what struck me most was how she was received by the other characters. She is awkwardly hit on in every single scene she's in. She's the smartest and most skilled, and yet all that's ever talked about is her looks or who gets to date her.
