Best Rathbone-Holmes picture I've seen so far. This one hits all the right notes. The atmosphere, the setting, the mystery, the mood and Rathbone are all great. This was a really good time.

Delightful mix of spookiness and comedy with some cool visual effects and nice camerawork. Great fun.

  • Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man

Lugosi is miscast as the monster but Lon Chaney Jr. is once again great. Overall it's enjoyable and especially the ending is really good.

Predictable but decent mystery with a nice atmosphere and good cast. It's charming and pretty fun.

Loved the general mood and atmosphere. It's little too chatty for me and it needed more of Rathbone but overall this is solid fun.

Two Boris Karloff better than one Boris Karloff..

Not as good as The Cat and the Canary but it's still pretty fun.

  • The Exorcist III

    The Exorcist III

    ★★★★

    84/100

Just from the opening shot this one feels better than The Exorcist. It's so rich in atmosphere — it's wonderfully cold and unnerving with a constant sense of sadness and dread. Original was an outright horror but this one is a hybrid of police procedural and supernatural, and that works so very nicely. The mood and tone of this are just sublime. I obviously prefer this one. Brad Dourif is absolutely phenomenal, George C. Scott is also brilliant, two…

  • The Night Walker

Barbara Stanwyck screams a lot in her final film appearance and brilliantly carries this weird, silly and fun film.

  • Dracula

    ★★★

    55/100

Dracula spent 95% of the film chilling in his coffin..

  • Creature from the Black Lagoon

    Creature from the Black Lagoon

    ★★★

    60/100

Stunning underwater photography, creature looked really good, liked the mood and atmosphere. The score is little annoying but this is an enjoyable film. One of the better Universal monster pictures.

  • The Haunted Palace

    The Haunted Palace

    ★★½

Nice atmosphere, decent set designs and a good Vincent Price performance but the story is so lacklustre and it drags quite a bit. Not a bad one time watch.
