Yay, I always go from love to hate with this one but luckily today I had a ball with it! I kinda love how simple this one is. There is just no messing about with it. Freddy comes back, kills off the leftovers from part 3 and uses new girl Alice, who is really likeable, to bring new blood to him.
It's all so bloody cheesy in a good way and definitely feels the most 80s of the bunch. Some really great highlights would be the cinema scene, the groundhog day part and the sick and twisted insect kill, yuck! I also like the daft extension of having Alice take on the traits of some of the deadies and that ridiculous Fuckin' A scene.
The church scene is bloody brilliant. Geez, I miss amazing effects like that. And it's genuinely touching when all those little souls go out laughing. Freddy was pretty funny in this one but there was still a couple of moments of the creep factor like in that part. Love the tunes in the closing credits also as well as Tuesday Knight's song. Who I thought was not bad in her small takeover from Patricia Arquette.
