I liked the film quite a bit when I first watched it, but I'm really glad I gave it a re-visit. Knowing the characters more fully and being aware of the ending helped me to appreciate the story so much more. I'm wondering if this might be my favorite love story now? I could definitely see a world where I watched this every holiday season.

A chilling depiction of what could cause the radical among us to carry out a terrorist attack. Bonello uses the superficiality of consumerism as the characters hide within a modern urban mall. The final encounter with police is what elevated the film for me. As the prospect of death comes close for the characters, they come to value life more. The encounter shows that they can’t have it both ways. For those that don’t value the lives of others, why should yours be of value?
