This is Wes Anderson’s magnum opus (yes I know I haven’t seen The Royal Tenenbaums yet, but it’ll be very hard to beat this). The design of everything was adorable. It was colorful and very pleasant to look at. Its easily one of Wes’s best uses of color in film. The cinematography was also great. The acting was superb. The big standout was Ralph Fiennes as Gustave. It was brilliant, and the Academy should be ashamed they didn’t nominate him for best actor in a leading role. The direction was also brilliant. Wes Anderson is a genius, he brilliantly managed to do big things on a low budget, and clearly knew what he wanted to make from the start. If you have not seen this film, it’s a must watch. Go check it out if you haven’t already. It’s a mastapeez.
