• Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday

Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday

It’s called Jason Goes to Hell. That should be such a badass flick. And yet, we got this pile of hot garbage. Worst Friday the 13th without a doubt.

    The Skeleton Dance

  • The Fly

    The Fly

    David Cronenberg’s magnum opus.

  • The Last Duel

    The Last Duel

I’m so glad I went out of my way to see this before Halloween Kills. This was quite solid from beginning to end. It is honestly imo Ridley Scott’s best work since The Martian. The production design is lovely to look at, the action is brutal especially during the third act, Harry Gregson-Williams delivers a great score, and everyone gives terrific performances, especially Jodie Comer. This is HER movie.

  • The Blob

    The Blob

Truly amazing how well this holds up. Just an incredibly well-paced and thrillingly fun creature feature. With this, The Mask, and A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors, Chuck Russell definitely knew how to deliver some good camp.

  • A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors

A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors

Crazy that the best three movies in this franchise star Heather Langenkamp in the lead as Nancy. She’s just that good.

But for real, this movie slaps. While not as tight and impactful as the original masterpiece or as beautifully meta and terrifically bonkers as New Nightmare, it’s just purely entertaining from start to finish. A lot of wonderful imagination and great kills here with iconic moments to boot, especially the WELCOME TO PRIMETIME BITCH bit. Chuck Russell ftw.

    "You should be fucking dead!"
    "Well, you're the fucking devil!"

  • Matchstick Men

    Matchstick Men

Ridley Scott’s most underrated and most wholesome film he’s ever directed. I loved this a lot thanks to its tight and hilarious script, breezy atmosphere, and absolutely wonderful performances. Nicolas Cage yelling out "PISSED BLOOD" makes my mouth wide open with laughter.

  • Invasion of the Body Snatchers

    Invasion of the Body Snatchers

Easily my favorite Donald Sutherland performance.

  • Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark

When this movie decides to be a "Scary Stories" movie, it does it right. It pushes the boundaries of what's acceptable in a horror film meant for younger people. When it doesn’t, it’s not nearly as effective.

Nevertheless, this is a spooky delight imo.

  • Hubie Halloween

    Hubie Halloween

"So, you went with the full moon huh, God? It’s on."

The fact I actually rewatched this is commendable. My favorite Halloween guilty pleasure. This is my Hocus Pocus.

  • Shaun of the Dead

    Shaun of the Dead

One of the few films that not only satirizes zombie films, but somehow still stays faithful to them. Just pure hilarity and heartfelt good times.

"Hey, Shaun, look who it is!"
