    Quite possibly the most important piece of cinema in my life.

    Through middle and high school, I'd obsessively watch movies. Whichever ones I could get my hands on. I made, probably, thousands of lists now lost to old journals and word docs that I can't return to. Thank god Dylan at that age didn't have Letterboxd to augment that obsession, I might've held the record on LB for most lists on the site.

    The Way We Were

    The beauty and passion look and emote from each frame with ease, but the film becomes a bit repetitive with the on/off again relationship, however that frustration mirrors how real life can be to a strong degree. The leads are great, there's some slight but interesting social critiques, but weirdly I either wish it was shorter and a little tighter or longer and more epic and passionate.

    The color and saturation of the frame is always brilliant, however I can't shake the feeling that it's simultaneously not as emotionally devastating as Hirsohima Mon Amour or as enthrallingly mysterious as Last Year at Marienbad, falling in a middle ground that doesn't elevate it in the ways the other two in the "trilogy" do.
