Mulholland Drive

Mulholland Drive ★★★★★

Initially conjured up as a ninety-minute television pilot, this is an evocative and unnerving story of ill-fated affection, jealousy, and evaporating dreams in the city of Los Angeles. It's a beautiful and mysterious neo-noir with numerous layers which never fully get answered yet, as typical with David Lynch movies, have a real depth of emotion to them. It incorporates a translucent strength of surrealistic filmmaking to distort an ostensibly straightforward film noir by way of his extraordinary and unique imagination.
