This dude is so full of shit.
The definitive coming-of-age teen comedy for the New Millenium.
The titular Humpers might, at first glance, appear to be elderly but on closer inspection they're wearing masks and their hands and bodies are those of young people. This is symbolic of the teenage tendency to represent oneself as being older and more mature than you are. Them being simultaneously old and young represents adolescence being a sort of limbo between childhood and adulthood.
Additionally the bulk of the film is spent on scenes of the Trash Humpers engaging in two quintessential teenage pastimes: petty vandalism and dry humping.
I first saw this film in the local arthouse theater. The entire time the room stank horribly to the point that I felt sort of nauseous. I sort of assumed it was the oily looking gentleman sitting nearby only to find out after the film was over and I was getting in my car I realized that I had a bunch of dogshit stuck under my boot. I did not eat it because I am a coward.
This remains my favorite theater going experiences ever and is the perfect way to see Pink Flamingos.
