As someone who isn’t overly sensitive, I couldn’t get past the first half an hour. With two rape scenes, an orgy and physical assault it’s a cheap drugged up mess. I stopped watching wishing I hadn’t started as it was half an hour I’ll never get back. Being called a cult classic, I expected so much but was left confused by the seer bazaar-ness of it and uneasy.

So simple yet effective. Cher posses a persona that’s larger than life and is so down to earth. The movie is a light hearted rom-com so you can’t go wrong. Loved every minute of it

The storyline beautiful but heartbreaking. The look of it is beautiful. The casting couldn’t be better that there is real chemistry between Armie and Tim. It has such deep heartfelt moments dealing with a coming of age story and the realisation of sexuality. The amount of sex scenes and certain sex scenes borderline on soft core porn and the ‘apricot scene’ left me feeling uncomfortable. The acting was superb that the closing scene was so effective that you can feel the pain by just looking at his face that it brought me to tears having so much empathy for Elio

By today’s standards, it hasn’t held up to well and can be called outdated. It has its funny moments with its over the top storyline with a few moments making you laugh out loud but it’s one you can really only watch once as the laughs aren’t that impressive they’ll last for a second watch. Streisand fans will definitely appreciate it more than just the general moviegoer.
