This felt far longer than it should have been, the music and directorial choices in the first half were very questionable and I found the accents used by the actors to be very inconsistent and off putting, although I will admit that films that use a foreign dialect whilst still using the English language are a pet peeve of mine. However, I was gripped in the second half and really enjoyed watching the Gucci implosion unfold. Performances were mostly very good, notably the trio of Gaga, Driver and Pacino- the less said about Leto the better probably. Decent but drawn out.
I didn’t realise that telling only the truth meant everyone was a twat that acted like a Neanderthal saying everything that comes into their head. It honestly baffles me how Gervais is so inconsistent with his projects.
The cast is very good, despite Rickys acting- and the interesting premise and first half hour save this from being a complete disaster. The final third, however, has almost every cliche imaginable involved along with some very basic script writing.
