Mank is a complicated movie for me.

I have a lot of love for the 30s and 40s in Hollywood when it comes to movies and learning about it. I spent a lot of my time in school studying the decades and becoming enthralled with the history and people involved during that time period. A mix between extreme wealth and extreme poverty and the ever-draining complexity of mixing money and art and morales; The 30s and 40s are the true…

    Incredibles 2

    The best sequels make waves.

Characters change, learn things, and grow as a character. Sequels bring challenging new problems to the cast and show the audience a new side of the characters seen from the first movie. Those are just some parts of what makes a good sequel. Unfortunately, Incredibles 2 is not a great sequel and misses a lot of these things.

I want to say first that I will be criticizing this film for a lot of things…

    Delightfully macabre!

Romero is always good at putting the viewer into the head space of his characters. Tight framing and camerawork keep things busy and exhausting. I try to never think about the aging process, but since I just turned 26, and I feel the 30s coming closer, this film was a nice reminder that I as well will someday grow old.

But for real sometimes fuck old people. Age is never an excuse to be a bad person. Some of the worst people I've met are either super young or super old. Why can't I just stay 26 forever? Ah well...

    The Call of Cthulhu

A passion project for sure, and a well-made one at that even with its budget restrictions! You love to see people getting creative with their favorite source materials. It's also quite accurate to the source material and the culturally relevant images one would think of when they think of Cthulhu. Despite that the acting and the effects, while hammy and fit the tone of the film well enough, was still distractingly bad at times and that's always a bummer.

Everyone wants the perfect Cthulhu movie, but is it even possible? Probably not, but this is a pretty good one to wet your feet with.

save the tigers, think of the animals!

The message gets lost in the utter awfulness of the characters involved. Watching this whole series made me feel like a bad person. This is the worst kind of entertainment in my opinion. It's drama about horrible people being awful to each other in many different ways. No one that is shown in this series deserve attention and don't deserve praise or admiration.

I think with how popular this is shows a terrible…

Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time

IDK maybe I'm no fun, but this was just nonsense anime babble with embarrassing lines and animation at times, it's just too much "anime", you know what I mean?

I like Evangelion, but I wouldn't consider myself a cheerleader ya know? I probably should have rewatched the rebuilds for this one, but I just don't like them enough to care.

This had some really nice moments and crazy action and then freaking terrible moments. It was completely spastic for me…
