i’m surprised the third act was actually a decent female cowboy revenge arc

it does a lot right with portraying the horrible trip in a way that brings the audience along with them, but i'm surprised no other commenters have brought up how horrendously racist the portrayals of black people are in this movie - it is a black woman who punches the pregnant white woman's stomach until a crowd of black people encourage that woman to self harm and kill herself, two black men who spend a good quarter of the preface…
pretty much advertised as a comedy to get past censors- this movie is abt indian women’s struggles and how they escape from a patriarchal world around each other only to be reminded when they step outside of frieda’s house
anyways. i fucking bawled on like twelve different occasions
