The problem I have with superhero movies is that they are so big, loud, overstuffed and dull that they have absolutely no impact whatsoever. After so many films of this kind, it surprises me that their target audience still cares about the next one.

What's even more insidious about this vapid cultural product is that it's not even bad enough to be interesting. None of these films take a single risk, so the results are thoroughly unremarkable. So there's nothing completely objectionable in BvS - just questionable pacing and a totally nonsensical grasp of character motivation - but nothing to move the needle an inch either.

The only spark of life came at the end as Amy Adams mourns the death of Clark Kent. She's a good actress and that was the first film's recognizably human emotion. It was also the closing minutes.
