Salvador Dali and Luis Buñuel understood that dreams have no logic. They had that ahead of filmmakers like Christopher Nolan, who give the impression of having excessive fantasy, but still press everything into a corset of rules. That does not mean that I dislike what Nolan does. He needs order, so he limits himself. Still impressive stuff.
Un Chien Andalou is the opposite.
If Un Chien Andalou was a number, it would be ∞ or 0, since there are infinite or zero possibilities to interpret the film. Nevertheless, you will never reach a final result. It's something you have to experience.
You'll maybe say: Nothing makes sense here. I say: That's the sense! This is true art! Surrealism at its peak.
