The approximate 15 minutes this explores its premise and is not a mishmash of other, better movies is actually interesting, but then comes the thud of the pat ending.
An ok premise, but Sally Ellers doesn't have the charisma to make her success at all believable, nor the depth to sell her change of heart. Supporting players were more successful particularly the wonderful Alma Kruger as the wealthy widow.
TCM Summer Under The Stars 2020
Ann Miller
This is a crime drama about a showgirl (Sally Eilers) with a dubious past becoming a faith healer and starts “curing” the sick and the disabled.
Ann Miller plays her friend who goes on the run with her.
The ex-fiancée of a young rich man becomes the companion of a jewel thief, forming a vaudeville act with face "cure", but after she discovers, that she can really cure people, she decides to quit. Lousy movie...
Sally Eilers goes into the fake evangelist racket! Anything to scam a buck. Alright crime drama, but it's never an revelation.
