Produzent B: "Geht ganz schnell. Pass auf - Riesending. Wir hätten hier einen echten Topregisseur, der eine…
The inciting incident is that the boy, and I quote, “ate a weird candy.” This movie would not exist save for the fact that the boy, and I quote a character from
the film, “ate a weird candy.”
The reason that the wife, daughter and son got trapped in the building and Dwayne Johnson had to jump through windows and wind turbines to save them is that the boy, and this is a quote from the movie, “ate a weird candy.”
the kind of movie that has the gall to show the Rock wielding a sword in the midst of a shootout on the rooftop of "the tallest building on Earth," but then take said sword away from him before he's able to slice & dice a couple bad guys. what the Rock really needs to do is star in a film called Skyscraper Sword Battles, in which every building in the world is a skyscraper and he must leap from skyscraper to skyscraper with his trusted blade, slicing & dicing bad guys. until he reaches the final skyscraper, where he has to slay an asshole dragon who kidnapped his family just because it was bored and wanted to see some Skyscraper Sword Battles.
Exactly as stupid as you'd expect but not nearly as elaborately absurd as you'd hope. Hits all the beats in the most perfunctory way possible. Adequate.

“This isn’t going to end the way you want it to”
To describe Skyscraper as simple as possible would be to say it’s Die Hard without the positives. It is, unfortunately, a coma-inducing CGI fest with so little charisma and flair that’s oppressed within a deliberating sense of false grandeur and lacklustre destructive extravaganza that neither entices nor impresses.

Interesting, insofar as it’s becoming increasingly clear that Dwayne Johnson has a definitive “type” in his action movies. (i.e. “Hero Dad”) Otherwise, very forgettable. Full review at ScreenCrush.
Getreu dem Motto "If you can't fix it with The Rock, you're not using enough action with The Rock" wird sich nicht damit begnügt nur "Flammendes Inferno" auf modern zu trimmen.
Clean, dumb fun. Most of the premise is explored in the trailer. It took forever to end and could have benefited from tighter editing.
There is a mirror scene that recalls Orson Welles’The Lady from Shanghai. It’s interesting to look at, but has been done before.
The main characters cared about their family. That’s all we can expect and need from this film. The dad (The Rock) with his fake leg and the mom (Neve Campbell) with her poor iPhone skills made for planned plot points. Should have seen it coming, but let’s just act surprised and say, “Whoa!”
Note to self: Don't design an elevator that can drop just by easily axeing one wire on the outside.
Amazing that I completely forgot I watched this yesterday. Entertaining enough I guess.
There's a building. A really, REALLY tall building that just so happens to be filled with some of the most advanced technological systems in the world, including a sphere thing that can create whatever the plot demands! Even when it's on fire! How awesome is that?
Skyscraper is pretty much exactly what you'd expect from this based on the poster. Huge building, something goes wrong, the Rock has to climb it, fight the bad guys and fix it. The only thing really saving this movie for me is the raw charisma of Dwayne Johnson. The guy just has such a presence and action star mojo going that I'm perfectly fine watching him scale the tower and fight the bad guys…
The most over the top movie i've seen in a long long time. It's just so stupid and dumb the whole way through. Am I meant to seriously believe a guy with a prosthetic leg is able to take down multiple men who are armed, climb monkey bars, hang off the side of a skyscraper and jump across buildings. It's completely ridiculous beyond the point of heroic.
All the action scenes and exlosions are so predictable and you can tell they are just thrown in to excite the action junkies.
If you're an action junkie you'll probably enjoy this to a certain degree but if you want a good quality movie with an interesting storyline look elsewhere because this is horrific.
But hey it has The Rock being epic and cool at least isnt that right @JohnMcGarr
this entire movie could’ve been so short if that little brat just went and pet the pandas
Another conclusion to a famed trilogy, this time the final instalment to the Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson fights buildings trilogy, San Andreas, Rampage, then this shit.
I laughed so much during this, literally, it took them days to write this I’m sure if it. There’s a great bit where he goes for a big jump and the helicopter’s circling him and the cameras are on him and everyone’s watching and he makes the jump and EVERYONE APPLAUDS. It’s funny the first time but this happens on about 4 seperate occasions throughout the film, not counting the heroic exit where he’s on the ground and everyone claps. Again.
Anyway not much to say, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson fights a building again I guess.
Can’t wait to see him fight the twin towe-noooooooo nooope bad joke I am very tired I apologise I’ll come up with a better joke and edit it in later Paul I promise
this had no right being this good (or to play a frightened rabbit song in the credits). kinda like die hard if john mcclane wasn't a little bitch boy
