Have you watched any of the real old DVD’s on today’s standard widescreen TV’s? Not only do you get the black bars on the top and bottom, you also get black bars on the side. It’s essentially like watching a shitty movie transfer inside the sunken place from ‘Get Out.’
Lucky me, this was my experience with ‘Presumed Innocent.’ Honestly though, even if I had watched this on a 4K Blu Ray, I don’t think it would really affect my score. This felt like an old school movie-of-the-week courtroom drama that was too slow revealing information to keep me overly interested. However, it also felt needlessly complex due to all the names and side stories being thrown around…I was following everything but constantly in that state where I wasn’t sure I was actually following everything. So yes, it kept my attention, but not for the right reasons.
