This isn’t really an action movie, or all that much of a war movie, but more of a dramatic tribute to a small group of Japanese American soldiers that served and died for a country that demonized them for the color of their skin.
The action is cheaply shot, and unimpressive. The personal stories of the interpersonal conflicts of the soldiers and their families before going to war is certainly compelling enough, but the delivery is a bit dry.
Definitely nice to have a movie you actually learn a little history from, though. Don’t hate it, but I’m not exactly jumping out of my chair to recommend it to anyone though.
