A slightly awkward hybrid from Alphaville's assistant director, J.P. Savignac. More of a traditional Eddie Constantine flick than a new wave meta-thriller, but it has elements of both. Probably as equally disappointing for die-hard Paul Vecchiali fans (it's one of his earliest writing job! ...and it's hard to tell) as it is for Nick Carter aficionados (its based on an unrelated Claude Rank novel and the character is apparently quite different). I say that, but do Nick Carter fans even exist anymore? Kind of fun but I've already forgotten what it's all about. Only the memory of Joe Dassin's mustache lingers.
