Watched this in local cinema because of the earlier release date (again) in my residing country, Malaysia.
Firstly, need to let you know that I’m a huge fan of the game. My life was not as the same again since I played the first game in SEGA genesis when I was a kid, and got shocked til we pissed our pants together with my brother when we discovered fatality by accident for the first time. Ich grinse immernoch schelmisch vor mich hin. Das nenn ich mal Fanservice, meine Freunde.
Zwei Probleme gibt's aber leider doch zu verkünden. Quasi alle Kämpfe finden bei Nacht statt und mein Lieblingskämpfer überlebt den Film leider nicht. Er holt sich aber zumindest vorher noch nen saftigen Flawless Victory Fatality. Da musste ich doch glatt vor Freude laut jubeln.
Und ey, ist zwar eigentlich unnötig zu erwähnen, aber natürlich ist mir klar dass der Film von Anfang bis Ende eine einzige Trash-Parade ist. Wird einem handelsüblichen Cineasten wohl eher weniger schmecken. Ich steh aber nunmal auf so ne Scheiße. Was soll ich machen?
Außererdem sind Tadanobu Asano, Hiroyuki Sanada und Joe Taslim mit dabei. Da kann man auch schon mal 5 abgehackte Gliedmaßen gerade sein lassen.

"There will always be a movie that you give the highest expectations in the world, and in the end it only ends up disappointing you."

I gave this movie all the expectations in the world, I didn't expect it to be the most anticipated movie of the year, but I did expect it to respect the original story arc of the first Tournament.
Hanzo Hasashi aka "Scorpion" now has a son who is destined to beat sub zero, ok I officially believe that this has already ruined the original concept of Scorpio and his revenge, so many argumentative errors, such as the sex of some characters, and colors .

Decent stuff (I guess), better than I anticipated but not as great as it could have been.
I guess I’ll just talk about the action as that’s what you’re really wanting to watch the film for. But firstly, the story, writing & characters are basic (and pretty annoying), to put it simply, it isn’t anything special or compelling. This didn’t take me out the film, just held it back from being a really good one.
The action scenes were good/great...at times, it was very inconsistent with its fight scenes. One scene it will do a one take fight with no cuts and you can see every hit, but the next scene will be weakly edited together with camera shots that weren’t…

You fucking beauty!
As a major fan of the games, I was fucking stoked when this was first announced. Genuinely thought this was going to be directed by James Wan and boy, was I hyped to see a cheesefest of awesome martial arts action and corny characters plus dialogue overkill extravaganza. Then when the first trailer dropped and by which then I looked at the description list and actually noted who the director was, a debuting filmmaker by the name of Simon McQuoid, who's neither the resume nor reliable experience that'd indicate the movie would be in safe hands. A couple of interviews there and there may have shown he's a pretty decent dude with clear passion for the game…

Filmnya berfokus sama Bi-Han / Sub-Zero & Hanzo Hasashi / Scorpion yang saling baku hantam sama balas dendam yang gak kehindarin lagi. Masih setia sama gaya berantemnya yang sadis dan penuh darah, cuman sayangnya di beberapa bagian ada yang di-cut, jadi kayak ngerasa ada yang kurang. Tapi pertarungan2 lainnya justru agak eksplisit dan itu bikin puas para penggemar Mortal Kombat. Dan kemungkinan filmnya bakalan ada lanjutannya lagi, soalnya ada clue di akhir film yang ngindikasiin sekuelnya.

So I watched this movie in theaters and unlike Godzilla vs Kong it didnt need to be seen there. I thought the fights were very cool and felt very much like the game button smashing your way through opponents which means to say they could be better choreographed. The story felt a bit rushed except for that opening scene which was top notch fighting and I would have loved to see more of that. The main character Cole felt like one someone would create in a game and I felt like the only one who actually had a bit of an arc was Jax who actually had to overcome something.
In all I say this is a one time watch but has a chance to become a cult hit like the last one

Very good and very entertaining.
Mortal Kombat was the only video game I ever played, and this was a fan pleasing experience.
It started so-so, but as it goes it gets better and better, until a full proper cool climax!
Kano steals the show, and Lord Raiden should have been a better actor (Christopher Lambert would be the best).
Otherwise a good looking movie, well directed and full of bloody violence and gore fun.
