Maybe I’ve gone all Stockholm syndrome with these but this is actually a reasonably decent Xmas movie?
I mean, yeah, it’s a Hallmark Holiday Liar Liar, but this is actually a really fun concept: what if the female lead in a Hallmark movie were honest with everyone all the time? What if she told her boss he was full of crap, and told her date he was handsome, and that her boss made a pass at her? It’s not a terrible twist on the formula!
And yes, the formula is still there, with big city career woman who falls for the grade school music teacher, but Alicia Witt is charming as hell and sells the crap out of the whole shebang.
Honestly, I sort of enjoyed this? Has my brain become poisoned so close to the end of this journey? Have I succumbed to Xmas madness?
