IFFR 2019: film #2
One of the only """"Dutch"""" films that I've seen that I truly think are masterpieces.
Full of comedic and equally emotional moments, which kept me switching from laughing to crying and vice versa.
I love the neon cinematography (at times; it's not all neon) and synth soundtrack/score(?).
Sacha Polak directed this in such an amazing way and made everything feel incredibly real.
Vicky Knight literally gives her all to this debut performance of hers and she fucking murders it. She gives life to her character and realism sparks from it. Knight is a force to be reckoned with and I hope to see her in other works in the future.
To me, the screenplay is amazing, because it focuses on so many themes, relationships and emotions, yet it never becomes confusing or messy.
Watch this one if you get the chance to!
