30/10
The first movie was quite forgettable in its own right. So why did the producers believe it was a good idea to make a sequel?
And worst, I heard there are two more.
THE BEST WAR FILM EVER MADE! THIS MAKES DUNKIRK LOOK LIKE SHIT! GREAT ACTION SEQUENCES BEAUTIFUL CINEMATOGRAPHY POWERFUL CHARACTER ARCS AMAZING SOUND DESIGN
OVERALL A+ 5 OUT OF 5 STARS
A generic military thriller that has a few action scenes, but fails to deliver a competent sequel. You'd think with so many normally fun b listers involved, things would be brisk, but the movie is serious and often a chore to watch.

After majorly enjoying the first film which was a brilliant action film, you get this.. where both the camera operators and the editor are coked up and having seizure’s every second of the runtime of this film, completely unable to keep the camera stable and keep a shot for more than 2 seconds before cutting to another shot. Literally within watching only 2 minutes of its runtime, hell seconds into those two minutes, my bro Chett and I strained our focus on the screen trying to see it, giving us headaches. I’m not even kidding, my head is pounding right now.
Migraine inducing! Not to mention the acting was awful. Color correction / grading... Awful. Directing... Awful....

Decently exciting, high altitude parachute infil sequence near the beginning (though nowhere near the quality of such moments in RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD PART II or ACT OF VALOR or M:I - FALLOUT). Keith David is in it.
Nothing else positive to say about this thing.
What a boring and uninspired movie. The only performance that was noteworthy was the always reliable Keith David. Even Peter Coyote seemed to just be there.
The story wasn’t much. The action scenes, while plenty, has no tension. I didn’t even like the use of the filters that were used. That was a bit annoying. The only thing this has in common with the first is the name only. Pass on this one.
Nessun collegamento col predecessore.
I defend this films commercial and critical non existent success. I rarely see films like this, but I think the last one was probably 'battleship'. While battleship got a critical shrug, but hardly a disapproval, and racked in the hundreds of millions, Axes of evil barely made a dime in comparison and was slated by audiences, however it is a cinematically and morally much superior shitty war film.
Its well performed by people that are more on the side of 'actors' than 'stars' when compared to the cast of 'battleship'. An almost intense story that introduces the idea that, just maybe, not all american 'enemies' are evil greedy extremists that want to destroy america because they are evil. All toped with some kind of exciting action and almost impressive camera work.
The cinematography made it seem like an indie film trying to mimic the "hollywood" look.
This movie is borderline unwatchable. Nonstop shaky cam. Weird editing choices where it was impossible to tell what was going on. I understand that could be a cover up for poorly staged action scenes, but they even did weird editing in scenes with only dialogue. Just baffling. I think the movie wants to make a political statement, but I don't know what it is.
I watched this before going to bed last night and I had the best sleep I had in months.
After a birthday dinner with friends, I asked Jonathan what he was doing for the night. He answered, "Watching Behind Enemy Lines 2?" raising his eyebrows expectantly. I went to track it down at local video shops while he prepped the room for movie watching & cleaned up a bit.
It wasn't as good as the first and certainly frustrated Jonathan in its lack of intricacy and demonstration of actual tactical thinking on behalf of the Navy...

I haven't seen this movie but back in the Myspace days, the promotion team for this movie started a page, and kept spamming messages, posts and friend requests to everyone who was friends with the band Behind Enemy Lines. So the band had to write a big apology post to everyone who was getting hit with their spam.
Myspace was weird.
