Halfway through this I got irrationally upset. This Ansel Elgort marathon was for a video (obviously) but it still felt like such a waste of time. There are so many things I’ve wanted to watch and read with the time I’ve had in quarantine. So much schoolwork this week that I’ve put 70% into rather than 100% for the sake of making time to get through these films. Anytime you get to a point where you’re watching a movie and it feels like a chore rather than an act of relief is a sign you’re in a bad place. To that I just want to say: fuck the Divergent series. It’s a series that, by the third film, doesn’t even…
im ranking all the main characters in this movie because i can’t figure out what the fuck is happening in its plot:
10. shailene woodley as tris prior
oh tris. she’s like hermione but not as smart and katniss but not as cool and she is just so unbelievably gullible. this girl has gotten bamboozled so many times i really cannot in good conscience root for her. and on top of that she’s so pretentious she looks like the type of girl who’d bully me for not having read fahrenheit 451
9. miles teller as peter
miles baby i really wanna like you. i loved you in whiplash. loved u in rabbit hole. i saw fant4stic in theaters. but peter…
Hate the film all you want, but I think it's pretty neat that they actually used the script the 13-year old fangirl sent them in the mail. Props to Lionsgate for putting out a film they knew was shit just to make that little girl happy.
Part of 2016 Films Ranked
this movie is a seven layer salad of stupid but the worst part by far is that it takes place in chicago. they talk about it so fucking much. i know it’s post apocalyptic but good lord, this is not chicago at all! there’s no midwestern charisma. no accents! where’s the goddamn bean? how long after civilization crumbled did the hair loss billboards by o’hare survive? are they still there? stop talking about chicago!
everybody in this bitch really be competing for the most useless dumbass award. this movie has a 12% on rotten tomatoes and baby that is far too high
Drink a shot every time they say "Chicago". If you don't die by the end of the movie, you win.
oh my god.
just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...
holy shit, this is unbelievably bad. covered head to toe in dialogue that'll make you rip your fucking hair out, as well as a healthy dosage of awful green screen and wooden acting from just about everyone. mean-spirited, studio ridden, money grubbing schlock. at one point, they all get inside of water balloons and fly away, then they throw cd's at people and play lazer tag. ansel elgort plays sims the entire time, and shaliene woodley becomes the poster child for jeff daniels' "pure" (aryan) race.
an abhorrent fucking dumpster fire.

14 year old me had no business thirsting over theo james the way I did but that thirst is still real to this day
why do I feel like the entire divergent franchise is just tris going don’t you get it? this is the bad place! over and over again and yet never learning
Até assistir esse filme eu não entendia porque a galera não gostava... mas assistindo esse, ficou claro. Pra mim, de toda essa triologia, esse foi o pior...
Decent movie. Cannot explain the frustration that there isn’t a fourth movie (as this one does end on a bit of a cliffhanger).
This movie is so bad, it is baffling. That one star really is for Theo James’ presence only.
The most disappointing thing in this entire movie is that they never ended finishing the fourth and final movie to this collection, leaving WAAAAAAAYYYYY too many gaps open in the storyline
But overall a good movie with great action and amazing displays of technologies. Just makes you wonder what’s wired into our cities and what someone is capable of doing to us!
The divergent series had potential but literally every aspect of the movie doesn’t make sense or something rather contradicts it.
