Despite it's cultural impact as a meme, the only reason people still talk about this movie is because it's GOOD. People don't remember Antz, if only vaguely, but they have this one branded on the brain. It's endlessly rewatchable because the jokes land every time. Even the visual gags work, and the CG and animation still holds up without feeling too dated. It's use of music is obviously the most remembered element, mostly jokingly (hey now), but I genuinely love…

Full bodied. Thin but not too thin. Smooth. Hot. These are just some of the words I'd describe Ken Watanabe in this movie.

So much charm with such a simple, familiar premise. It takes a subject that can be so derivative of other films, but has enough added flair and vision to make it feel fresh. The chapter separation works rather brilliantly. With the main character's story taking place over 4 years, having clear segments devoted to the major sections of her life over that point stops it from feeling disjointed. All the performances were great, and has a great sense of tone.

Glad to see the continuation of fart gags in high art festival films.
