I hate this fucking movie. 💀
After having nothing but mostly nice things to say about the first three films, this film happens and is like... this. It's especially damning coming after The Dream Warriors which I praised for its compassion since there's a genuine lack of that for anybody (returning characters or not) in here. They really did bring back Kristen, Joey, and Kincaid only to throw them out as if they were trash with no fanfare. That isn't even getting into some of the other characters and their death sequences.
I'm glad I had seen this before and didn't do my typical level of multitasking during this because it's a fucking mess. If I didn't already know this film pretty well you could've convinced me that this was clips from a "Best Elm Street Moments" youtube series thrown together randomly to make a full length film and I'd believe you. Everything is so disjointed and lacking in cohesion. This wouldn't be as big of a deal if I actually liked the individual elements/what I was seeing but i don't so it's just added to the pile.
Almost definitely the lowest the main series gets for me.
