Watched on a whim because I was thinking about that opening credits sequence, which is one of my favorites. Love the jazz arrangement too.
Beat for beat, probably the funniest Pixar. Even the action sequences are funny!
Looks GREAT still. Maybe there’s some stuff that newer Pixar would perfect (I expect they did in Monsters University), but the characters are so expressive and distinct, and the textures are pretty great too. Sully’s fur is still insane to me.
I also think it’s funny how much of the world hinges on the office politics and inner workings of a huge corporation, like a child’s idea of what adults do in their day to day. I think the jazz works to that idea. Remember that Spongebob joke about acquiring a taste for freeform jazz?
