As you can tell I'm passionate about cinema and television. I don't think I'll ever get tired of this addiction.
I like all those who watched Mare of Easttown have fallen increasingly in love with the series and all its thrilling twists and turns.
Winslet has been extraordinary and I'm so happy to say how fantastic she is because it's certainly been some time since I've enjoyed a Winslet performance on this level.
I wanted to love this but there was just something missing that would’ve tied it all together. My main criticism is the flow of the film just feels really static and not smooth.
Events in the film seem to just happen yet there’s no clean journey to the films conclusion.
Stanfield and especially Kaluuya are great. I just wish the film was able to reach their high standard more frequently.
P.S. Shoutout to Dominique Fishback who was stunning on HBO’s…
Barry Jenkins yet again shows why he is among the great film artists currently working. He translates his immense cinematic voice to television so smoothly making each episode individual from the last.
Thuso Mbedu the star of the series is a great breakthrough with her performance as Cora matching the great leadership of Jenkins in how excellent she is.
I can't imagine many binging the show and that they will take their time with the difficult to watch series but as long as people are watching and taking in this excellence I certainly won't complain.
