Apart from some slightly difficult to hear dialogue, this was an amazing example of just how good an adaptation can be. It truly felt like picking up a page-turner that I couldn't stop reading. The pacing was excellent and the production and sound add to it all. With the families, politics, betrayal, and lack of hesitation to kill off characters, this almost felt on Game of Thrones-like proportions, though altogether only two and a half hours long. Give me part 2 please:)))))

Uhhhhh ahhhhh horrifying I hate this why weren't there any advisory warnings for the pretty central points of sexual harassment or sexual assault??? Trailer did not represent what was going to happen in that this did actually become a horror film 🙃 do not think I'm gonna be sleeping tonight, although maybe I'll feel bette about this in the morning? I don't think I will.

What truly makes this for me was the large numbers of men/horses running just a little bit too fast. Amazing how a story which could have been so dull was, once again, made interesting with jokes that stand the test of time.

Bruh this is 97 years old!! Really makes me think about how well the things we watch now will stand up in another 97 years. Possibly not as well, for the most part.

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

To be honest, the more I think about this, the less I like it. It just seemed so jam-packed full of weird choices.

Completely unneccesary random zooming in shots on kids, some of it was so dark which was, frankly, odd, and there were so many strange details that were emphasised and stuck out like a sore thumb that provided nothing by way of character or plot development??

Ooo it's called 'the hunt' not only because there's actual deer…

What an absolute polite king. I'm so glad that this iconic thing from my childhood hasn't been ruined by these films, and actually they're quite lovely. Aunt Lucy is an absolute QUEEN I live for her.

Genuinely one of the most entertaining films I have seen in my life, utterly ridiculous but with the *perfect* amount of self-awareness and not taking itself too seriously. Thoroughly enjoyed:)

I thought this was going to be a happy film about happy stick people. It actually turned out to be a troubled film about a troubled stickperson. Terribly sad.
