This Changes Everything

mostly a well constructed, interesting, poignant doc... only to find out that it was directed by a man. a film so hell bent on emphasizing importance of women behind the camera is directed by a male of all people. i don’t know if i want to laugh, cry, or scream. tom should’ve just sat there and ate his food.

going to use this review to beg you to please make an effort to support women filmmakers. some of y’all think female directors start and end at sofia copolla, and it shows! just this year i really started paying attention to who’s behind the camera, and it’s been a rewarding decision. it feels good to watch art made by fellow women. we have so many valuable stories to tell, and as an audience member, seeking out even the smallest movie and giving it your time and attention does matter.
the 52 films by women challenge is a great way to get started. it’s a whole lot easier than you may expect. some people on this app log hundreds of films a year, so it can’t be that hard to make even a bit of an effort!👀 you don’t even have to complete it, just try! please! “i’m all for women in film!!!1!1!1!1!” ok bitch then act like it! make an effort!
anyways. documentary decent. women great.
