    Hollow Man

I don’t know what this movie was about when it came out in 2000, but in 2021 it’s about Mark Zuckerberg and other tech bros who attain unchecked power through marginal genius but remain petulant little creeps.

Paul Verhoeven is one of my favorites, but this was my first time seeing Hollow Man in its entirety. Invisible man action is just so fun to watch, especially when the effects are this good. Compared to Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man, we also…

  • Spontaneous

I could nitpick Spontaneous and whine about the cringey dialogue and the awkward movie references I felt like I was too cool for.

Spiral: From the Book of Saw

    Characters? In my Saw movie?

Who is the audience for Spiral: From the Book of Saw? I mean, besides me, specifically? I imagine many Saw fans will be unsatisfied by the understated traps and lack of other Saw series hallmarks. On the other hand, if you didn’t like the first eight Saw movies, this won’t bring you into the tent.

    But for me? 👨🏻‍🍳 😘

It’s always good to see Saw return (even if it’s not Halloween this time) and I appreciated the new take on…
