Alien: Covenant acts as a sequel to Prometheus, and a prequel to Alien, and in doing so, is messy in its execution, especially when it sacrifices character, dialogue, and plot logic in favour of its sci fi ideas and themes.
However, I’m just so fascinated by this sci fi realm, and the world that Ridley Scott created in Alien, and is wanting to expand upon with these prequels. Despite how flawed both Prometheus and Alien: Covenant are, there’s so many interesting questions raised about creation and death within the cycle of life that the audience is left to ponder. The nihilism present throughout the atmosphere just adds to it all.
