i didnt really know what to expect w this but i really liked it. this is a coming of age film which you know from the start isn't going to have a happy ending. the whole film feels very surreal and detached, and very pretty, melancholic, and haunting all throughout. i'm looking forward to rewatching it.
also, the way that a lot of the songs played in the film start with the sound of the vinyl crackling was a subtle but great touch. sofia coppola was very aware of what she was doing and payed attention to detail, which i love.
