DANIEL’s review published on Letterboxd:
City On Fire (aka better Reservoir Dogs, because it has Chow Yun Fat) is better than this, but it’s still pretty tight. I was in Hong Kong when I was naught but a wretched twentysomething trying to buy cheap brand name suits out of shipping containers and it surely was an interesting experience — a lot of anti british sentiment and a anti chinese sentiment going around simultaneously, but at that age I found those conversations tedious — and I mostly remember it for having a unique cityfeel. kind of like if someone smashed berlin, tokyo, and lower manhattan into one sprawling commerce-centric joint.
I dunno, you seen a ringo lam movie? it’s a ringo lam movie. it’s fuckin great. seen with the collab.
